An introduction to ISmarts is in order. ISmarts is a revolutionary approach to innovation which is based on the recognition that the root of innovation is human intelligence. The ISmarts framework builds on several recent theories of intelligence, especially, the triarchic framework (Robert Sternberg) and the theory of multiple intelligences (Howard Gardner). Different persons may have the same hope, but the hope will manifest itself in different innovations because of the different kinds of intelligence-driven innovational capabilities that we discuss in the ISmarts framework.
